New trend in Kitchen cabinet style for 2011
According to the National Kitchen and Bath’s annual survey, things are ‘Shaking’ up as far as kitchen cabinets go. What’s shaking is the Shaker style of cabinet that has advanced to 2nd Place. While traditional style kitchen cabinets remain in 1st place, their numbers decreased in 2010.

The momentum of the Shaker style cabinet may be due to a trend for consumers towards a simpler design aesthetic. In other words, designers and home owners may be selecting the Shaker style cabinets because of its timeless appeal. The Shaker cabinet (see Fig 1) works well with today’s sleek stainless appliances and looks great whether specified in a stained or painted finish.
