Splatter Effect on Base Coated Floor |
As I mentioned in yesterday's BestDesignCoach blog post, great design starts with answering the need to put function first when designing your home. When you take the time to solve a design dilemma that stems from how a room is used, you are half-way to solving problems that keep you up at night.
In my last post at HouseZenGarden.com I talked about using a splatter paint effect to give a basement floor a little pizazz, while it helps to hide the inevitable dust and dirt from everyday use.
I can't thank the blog Designskool.net enough for their suggestion to use a plastic fork to apply paint to a base-coated painted floor.
In a recent installation, we selected a splatter paint method for a basement media/playroom floor and in a few hours the plain blue-gray floor was transformed. It seemed that the fork method of applying the paint made the job application quicker than other techniques for applying a splatter effect.
As always, a little research goes a long way in solving any problem whether it's designing a floorplan, a kitchen or bath or deciding on a paint scheme. Research, research, research, when you are looking for the answer and a good nights sleep.
