Frozen, blocked or just scared. Is that how you feel when you start a decorating project?
However, take heart! Even the seasoned interior designers among us may feel the same way when undertaking a new project.
The difference between the novice remodeler and the seasoned interior designer is not only experience, but the understanding of the importance of research when beginning a new project and taking a first step to discovery.
For instance, on a kitchen remodel I could assume that the countertop surface will be granite. The problem with assumptions is that it stops you from looking into alternatives, that can make the difference between a project that is just pretty versus one that is pretty spectacular.
So, today I visited the Cambria website to see if there was anything new in surface materials. It seems their Waterstone Collection, whose look they say is “influenced by the natural movement of water over stone” might be a good point of departure from the regular granite selection route.
