Best Idea To Add Some 'Spring' To Your Step

By now, winter has lost it's appeal and the cool temps are hanging around way too long. But these chilly early spring days will be over before you know it. If you're like me, you're ready to see a glimpse of Spring.

While tulips are nowhere to be seen outside, they are ready and waiting for you to grab them up at your local florist or grocery store. Just the sight of yellow tulips can make your day feel a little brighter, a little sunnier.

Start an early Spring tradition at home or even at work. Treat yourself to a bunch of blooms at the grocery store or florist - they're probably right by the entrance. Buy a bunch for home and one for your office. Add a few branches of pussy willow and you're good to go!

At work I challenge you to see how many of your co-workers notice the tulips you added at your desk. I bet you'll see that they give the office atmosphere a little oomph, a little pizazz.

Not a tulip fan? Add some color by clipping a few branches of forsythia and add them to a vase of tepid water. Within a few days the forsythia will be blooming and you'll swear spring is finally here (at least inside your home and heart).

What Spring Flowers Can Do For You

 

By the end of February I am done with winter.

All the logs for our fireplace can sit there for all I care.

I'm ready for Spring.

Even my favorite pine scented candle is losing its attraction.

I'm thinking of lemon scented or lavender scented anything.

 

But mostly I just want to see some flowers, some color

 and fresh green stems  and I don't mean asparagus!

All the dull grass outside makes a trip to the

Philadelphia Flower Show a must see event

 

 

 

What Can You Do To Make Spring Arrive Sooner?

As I mentioned above, it's the Flower Show that heralds the start of Spring for me.

The minute I enter the Flower Show's event hall I'm almost overcome

with the color, the scent and the energy

of all that creativity that I'm about to explore.

 

Best of all, I always come home with scores of ideas for home and garden.

There are vendors with plants, flowers and stems of curly willow -

everything and anything a flower enthusiast could want.

 

I hope to see you there!

If you can't travel to Philly, at least pick up some flowers

today at your local florist or floral department.
