One of my favorite Ways to initiate change in a home's Decor

One of my favorite ways to start a project in a client's home
is to take a photo of the room in question.
A photo can reveal some areas of improvement that are not so obvious to the naked eye.
This room could benefit from window treatments, a rug, new lamps
and a deeper shade of paint color and crown moulding, for instance.
Just click it! Grab your digital photo and take a few photos of a room you want to redo.
You'll be surprised at how visible the problem areas show up in the photograph.

Look at your photo and notice the following areas:
·         Balance – are too many pieces of furniture on one side of the room? Or, are all the pieces of furniture at the same height?
·         Color – is there a color story, or are you living in a ‘sea of beige’?
·         Wall interest – have you added artwork to walls? Are they bare, or does it look dotty with small and mismatched frames?
·         Tension – do the furniture styles ‘fight’ each other, or is there a casual blending of old and new?
·         Bare windows – one of the marks of a well-designed room includes beautiful window treatments. How do your windows measure up?
Question: What problem areas did you see when you photographed your rooms?
